The Promise is the unforgettable epic musical-drama about the life of Jesus Christ.  Utilizing an award-winning musical score and a cast, crew and orchestra of dedicated volunteers, the audience witnesses the birth, life, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus.  The Promise inspires as well as entertains, and provides a means for spiritural renewal to all involved.             For many years, the Messenger Drama Team at Bethel Lutheran has performed The Promise in small acts during worship services.     In 2007, The Promise of Rochester went community-wide, with participants coming together from area congregations to produce the whole drama at one time!     It is an enormous undertaking, but a fulfilling one.  What a tremendous outreach to our community and surrounding communities as we present the life of our Savior - Jesus, the Christ - through drama and music. Streets of Jerusalem       Plan to arrive early for the performances to see the Narthex transformed into the 'streets of Jerusalem' as they were envisioned to be in Jesus' day.     Witness life in those times, as the tantalizing aroma of freshly-baked bread lures you through the Jerusalem gates.  Here you will be pleasantly welcomed by many costumed characters selling their wares and inviting you to pet their livestock including: chickens, ducks, a goat and a cow.     Colorful market vendors will be available to share with you their talents, including: weavers, bakers, carpenters and other craftsmanship.     Mel's Diner will be providing cookies and pop for purchase during intermission.
